The Reading Room

A quiet reading room for the Solana ecosystem.

Long-form glossary terms, ecosystem deep dives, and dated field notes — written by people who run validators and read the code, not by hype threads. Settle in and read slowly.

How a Guide Is Written

From a confusing RPC call to a page you can cite.

Every entry follows the same five-step path so the library stays consistent and the references stay checkable.

  1. 01

    Select the topic

A reader question, a confusing program log, or a gap in the glossary picks the next entry.

  2. 02

    Read the source

We read the Solana client and program code on the relevant commit, not the marketing page.

  3. 03

    Run the node

Claims are checked against a local validator and live RPC calls before they are written down.

  4. 04

    Peer review

A second operator reads the draft, runs the commands, and pushes back on anything vague.

  5. 05

    Publish & maintain

The page goes live with its commit hash and is re-checked when the client version moves.

Seven questions readers ask first.

Two Voices on Solana

From confusion to a page that holds.

Before — a reader, March

I had been holding Solana for a year and could not explain what a vote account did. Every explainer I found either assumed I already ran a node or treated me like I wanted a price chart. I closed the tab more confused than when I opened it, and a little embarrassed that I could not describe the thing I owned.

After — the same reader, June

The glossary gave me the words first — stake account, vote account, leader schedule — each under sixty words, each linking to a deep dive. I read the stake-accounts deep dive on a Sunday and ran the commands on a local validator that evening. For the first time the ecosystem felt like a system I could read, not a feed I had to trust.

The Full Library Pass

For readers who want the whole shelf, not the sample.

The Full Library Pass is for developers, validators, and curious newcomers who want every deep dive, the full field-note archive, and offline export — without ads, trackers, or a daily marketing email.

  • All 23 ecosystem deep dives, each citing program IDs and commit hashes.
  • The full field-note archive, dated and left in place when the client moves.
  • Offline export of every deep dive as a single readable file for travel.
  • One digest per ecosystem event — never a daily send.

Where You Read

The reading room comes to you, on web, RSS, or offline.

Delivery is built for slow reading, not for app stores. Open the library in any browser, pull the field notes through RSS, or export a deep dive as a single file for a flight with no signal.

  • Web reader — every page is plain HTML that loads with JavaScript off.
  • RSS feed for field notes, one entry per publication, no tracking pixels.
  • Offline export of deep dives as a readable file for members.
